RUBY KAO studied Chinese Folk Dance at the Chinese Cultural University of Taiwan, followed by a period of research in traditional Chinese dance in Beijing. Ruby was a member of the Taipei Folk Dance Troupe and represented Taiwan in numerous cultural exchange performances in Europe, Asia and America. A career highlight was a performance of the Opera 'Aida' in German at the National Theatre in Taiwan. Ruby migrated to Australia in 2004, and divides her time between performing with Kita and at the Chinese Museum, teaching dance and martial arts at various performing arts schools, and looking after her baby son Raine.
